房融

Fáng Róng (Táng minister and Buddhist devotee; d. ca. 705). Served at the imperial court under Wǔ Zétiān and was later exiled to Guǎngzhōu, where he is traditionally said to have participated in Pāramiti 般剌蜜帝’s 705 translation of the Śūraṅgama-sūtra (KR6j0118, T19n0945) as the scribe-recorder (筆受). His literary polish has frequently been cited in arguments that the Śūraṅgama-sūtra is a Chinese apocryphal composition.
