Tánguǒ 曇果 (*Dharmaphala, “Dharma-Fruit”; lifedates unknown), Eastern-Hàn Western-region Buddhist śramaṇa, fl. late second century CE at Luòyáng. According to the Chū sānzàng jì jí 出三藏記集 (T2145, juan 2 and 13), Tánguǒ collaborated with the Hàn-Chinese upāsaka Kāng Mèngxiáng in producing Zhōng běnqǐ jīng 中本起經 (T196) — the post-awakening Buddha-biography continuing Xiūxíng běnqǐ jīng (T184) — c. 207 CE. The two-text Buddha-biography cycle is one of the foundational documents of Hàn-period Chinese Buddhist hagiography. Per DILA Buddhist Person Authority A002151.
