Northern-Sòng Daoist woman-poet and compiler, fl. eleventh century. Known in the Sòng literary tradition as a “female perfected” (nǚzhēn 女真) and for her Daoist verse. Compiler of Huángdì yīnfú jīng jíjiě 黃帝陰符經集解 (DZ 112, also Dàozàng jíyào JY115 Huángdì yīnfú jīng shízhēn jíjiě 十真集解) — a collected-commentaries edition of the Yīnfú jīng presenting strata attributed to ten Daoist authorities. Cáo is one of the very few women recorded as compilers within the Daozang and an important figure in the Sòng women’s Daoist literature. No CBDB record was found.
