Late-Míng Cí’ēn 慈恩 / Yogācāra monk; sobriquet Bìng tóu-tuó 病頭陀 (“Sick Dhutaṅga”). DILA Authority A001761. Lifedates unrecorded. Native of Tiáo-shàng 苕上 (Húzhōu region). Dharma-disciple of Shào-jué Guǎng-chéng fǎshī 紹覺廣承法師 (1560–1609). Followed his teacher for twenty years; achieved substantial expertise in Yogācāra (唯識) and various schools, but was physically weak and could not undertake public lecturing — therefore retired to private cultivation, whence his self-title Bìng tóu-tuó.
Editorial work: provided the huì 會 (“collation”) editorial finalisation of Shíjǔ 時舉’s Sòng Jīngāngbēi lùn shìwén (KR6d0181, X56n0937), preserving the Sòng work for transmission through the late-Míng canonical apparatus.
