Jīngāngbēi lùn shìwén 金剛錍論釋文

Text-Interpretation of the Vajra-Lance Treatise by 時舉 (Shíjǔ, 釋); collated by 海眼 (Hǎiyǎn / Bìng tóutuó, 會)

About the work

A three-juan Sòng-period running commentary on Zhànrán’s Jīn-gāng-bēi (KR6d0175, T1932) by the Tiāntái master Shíjǔ 時舉, with editorial collation (會 huì) by the late-Míng monk Hǎiyǎn 海眼 (the Bìng tóu-tuó “Sick Dhutaṅga”). The work belongs together with the other Sòng Jīn-gāng-bēi commentaries (KR6d0177, KR6d0178, KR6d0179, KR6d0180) as part of the substantial Sòng commentarial corpus on Zhànrán’s foundational doctrine.

Prefaces

The text opens with the standard front matter and Shíjǔ’s editorial framing referencing Zhīlǐ’s Sìmíng shíyì shū (KR6d0185).

Abstract

The composition of the original Shíjǔ commentary is bracketed within the Sòng productive period c. 1100–1300; the editorial finalisation by Hǎiyǎn extends the bracket into the late-Míng era (c. 1600). The work was preserved through the SòngMíng commentarial transmission and reprinted in the Manji-zoku canonical apparatus.
