Wáng Jiǎn 王儉
Zì Zhòngbǎo 仲寶. Southern Qí 南齊 statesman and bibliographer, native of Lángyé Línyí 琅邪臨沂 (modern Shāndōng). Author of the Qīzhì 七志 (“Seven Records”), a seven-part bibliographic catalogue (compiled ca. 472) that supplemented Liú Xīn’s 劉歆 Qīlüè 七略 with Buddhist and Daoist divisions; an important precursor to 阮孝緒 Ruǎn Xiàoxù’s Qīlù 七錄 of the Liáng. The Qīzhì is no longer extant but is quoted extensively in 陸德明 Lù Démíng’s Jīngdiǎn shìwén 經典釋文 and in the Suíshū jīngjí zhì derivation. Nán Qí shū 南齊書 (juan 23) gives his biography.
