Wáng Xíng 王行 (1331–1395), zì Zhǐzhòng 止仲, hào Bànxuān 半軒, native of Chángzhōu 長洲 (Sūzhōu prefecture). Member of the Sūzhōu literary circle of 高啟 Gāo Qǐ (named in Lǐ Zhìguāng’s biography of Gāo as one of Gāo’s closest jiéjiāo friends). Began as a private tutor at the Qímén 齊門 (Sūzhōu’s north gate); served as local school-master in early Hóngwǔ; from c. 1383 was household tutor (jiāshī) at the mansion of Lán Yù 藍玉 (Liángguógōng 涼國公), the foremost Hóngwǔ general. Distinguished by a serious lifelong interest in military strategy: held tactical discussions with Lán Yù and had close conversations with 姚廣孝 Yáo Guǎngxiào (Dàoyǎn 道衍), advising the latter “to wait” for the right moment (a remark later interpreted in light of Yáo’s role in the Jǐngnán 靖難 rebellion of 1399–1402). Implicated in the Lán Yù treason case of Hóngwǔ 26 (1393) and executed in 1395. His collection is KR4e0047 Bànxuān jí 半軒集; the appended Wáng Bànxuān zhuàn 王半軒傳 by 杜瓊 (Dù Qióng) is the principal external biographical witness. CBDB id 28689: 1331–1395, confirmed.
