Zhǒng 種 (DILA-standardized Zhìzhǒng 智種), hào Nèishào 內紹 (“Inner Successor”). LínjìYángqí dharma-heir of Tuìwēng Hóngchǔ 弘儲 in the Hànyuè Sānfēng sub-line.
Background. Initially trained in Tiāntái-school doctrinal study under Jízhōng fǎshī 即中法師 (a Tiāntái master) — tòu jìn Táizōng xuánào 透盡台宗玄奧 — with reputation for doctrinal-debate prowess. Heard about Hóngchǔ at his Guóqīngsì abbacy and crossed lineages to Sānfēng Línjì transmission with decisive xǐng on a zhǎn duàn báiyún guīlù 截斷白雲歸路 jì-verse exchange. The Tiāntái → Línjì conversion is significant: Jízhōng fǎshī himself, in his last instruction, transferred his Tiāntái lineage-robe to Zhǒng despite the cross-school issue.
Abbacy. Sūzhōu Fǔlǐ Yuèzhǎng Chányuàn 蘇州甫里月掌禪院 (Wújiāng region) — whence the title-form 月掌種.
Works. KR6q0478 《內紹種禪師語錄》 2 juan, Jiāxīng Canon J34 B306, recorded by shìzhě Zhàowéi 照維 děng jì. Also 《內紹禪師得閑堂頌谷》 1 juan (separately preserved).
