Luó Měi 羅美 (fl. 1675, 清), Dànshēng 澹生 (also written 淡生), hào Dōngyì 東逸, was an early-Kāngxī physician originally from Xīn’ān 新安 (Huīzhōu 徽州, Ānhuī) who later resided in Yúshān 虞山 (Chángshú 常熟, Jiāngsū). A scholar conversant with the classics and history, deeply read in the Yìjīng and in pre-Hàn palaeography, he practised medicine in his later years and was a close friend of the Shānghán commentator 柯琴 Kē Qín. Three works survive: the Nèijīng bó yì 內經博議 (KR3ea046) in four juan, dated Kāngxī 14 = 1675; the Gǔjīn míngyī huìcuì 古今名醫彙粹 (KR3es002) in eight juan, completed Kāngxī 14 = 1675 (printed only in 1801); and the Gǔjīn míngyī fānglùn 古今名醫方論 in four juan (printed 1675). The latter two were originally a single twelve-juan compendium, Gǔjīn míngyī jīnglùn zhèngzhì huìcuì 古今明醫經論證治匯粹, divided when the printing block costs proved prohibitive. His doctrinal allegiance is to the Wēnbǔ 溫補 school of Xuē Jǐ 薛己 and Zhāng Jièbīn 張介賓 (張景岳), though without sectarian narrowness — the Huìcuì records the doctrines of Liú Wánsù and Zhū Zhènhēng equally fully.
