Xuē Jìxuān 薛季宣 (1134–1173, zì Shìlóng 士龍, hào Lànɡyǔ 浪語), of Yǒngjiā 永嘉 in Wēnzhōu 溫州 (modern Zhèjiāng). Foundational figure of the Yǒngjiā xuépài 永嘉學派 (shìgōng 事功 / “statecraft-utility” school), the principal Southern-Sòng alternative to Zhū Xī’s lǐxué and Lù Jiǔyuān’s xīnxué. Studied initially under Yuán Gài 袁溉, a transmitter of Hénán Chéngshì learning. In late life corresponded with Zhū Xī 朱熹 and Lǚ Zǔqiān 呂祖謙 but emphasized shìgōng over xīnxìng. Died at 40, but his teaching was carried forward by Chén Fùliáng 陳傅良 and Yè Shì 葉適. Author of KR1b0034 Shū gǔwén xùn 書古文訓 (his commentary on the ancient-script Shàngshū) and KR4d0264 Lànɡyǔ jí.
