Xiè Liángzuǒ 謝良佐 (1050–1103), zì Xiǎndào 顯道, hào Shàngcài xiānsheng 上蔡先生, was one of the Sì xiānshēng 四先生 (“Four Masters”) of the second-generation Chéng-school transmission, alongside Yáng Shí 楊時, Yóu Zuò 游酢, and Lǚ Dàlín 呂大臨. Native of Shàngcài 上蔡 (Hénán). Jìnshì; held office under Huīzōng’s early reign as Supervisor of the Xījīng Bamboo and Timber Yard 西京竹木場, demoted at the start of Jiànzhōngjìngguó (1101) after a remonstrance and finally cashiered. His yǔlù — recorded by his disciples Zēng Tián 曾恬 (later Tiānyǐn 天隱, of Wēnlíng 溫陵, d. ca. 1152) and Hú Ānguó 胡安國 — was edited and substantially abridged by Zhū Xī as the Shàngcài yǔlù 上蔡語錄 (KR3a0039), with a 1159 first edition (when Zhū was 30) and a 1168 revised edition.
