Chāoxuàn 超宣

Mid-seventeenth-century LínjìYángqí Chán monk, dharma-heir of Bǎichī Yuán 百癡元 (c. 1614 – c. 1660) and head compiler (děng biān 等編) of KR6q0421 《百癡禪師語錄》 (Jiāxīng Canon J28 B202, 30 juan). The 超-generation character is non-standard for the Mìyún-line lineage poem (which runs 通 → 行 → 性 / 本), suggesting either (a) a local Fèiyǐn / Bǎi-chī-specific sub-lineage naming convention, or (b) Chāoxuàn 超宣 as a or secondary name rather than a formal generation-character-fǎ-huì.

No independent yǔlù or literary collection survives under his name; he is known only through the Bǎichī materials he curated — the largest-juan compilation assigned to any of Bǎichī’s heirs. Native place, lay surname, and lifedates unrecovered.
