Guō Pú 郭璞 (276–324), Jǐng chún 景純, was an Eastern-Jìn polymath — poet, exegete, philologist, geomancer. The leading Ěr yǎ 爾雅 commentator of his age, he also wrote influential commentaries on the Shān hǎi jīng 山海經 (KR5d0054), the Mù tiān zǐ zhuàn 穆天子傳, the Fāng yán 方言, the Cǎng Jié piān 蒼頡篇, and the Chǔ cí 楚辭. Executed at 49 in connection with the Wáng Dūn 王敦 rebellion. Guō’s Shān hǎi jīng commentary is the standard received text.
