Qián Fēn 錢棻 of Jiāshàn / Jiāxīng 嘉善 / 嘉興 (Zhèjiāng), son of 錢士升 Qián Shìshēng (1575–1652, Chóngzhēn-era Lǐbù shìláng and Grand Secretary). Documented in two editorial capacities in the Kanripo corpus:

  1. As disciple of the Dōnglín martyr 魏大中 (1575–1625), the first editor and publisher of the Máoyán jí 茅檐集 (KR4e0243) of 魏學洢 (1596–1625) shortly after the editor’s father and Wèi Xuéyī both died in 1625; the WYG text descends not from his first impression but from the later re-engraving by 魏學濂.

  2. As fellow-townsman of Wú Zhèn 吳鎭 in Jiāxīng (the Yuán painter), editor (jūnshí) of the Méihuā dàorén yímò 梅花道人遺墨 (KR4d0539), assembling tíhuà zhī zuò (inscription-on-painting pieces) into a 2-juǎn edition. The Sìkù tíyào notes Qián’s editorial failures — including the inclusion of Xiānyú Shū’s 鮮于樞 tízhú shī mistakenly under Wú’s name (which Wú had merely copied) — and the inclusion of zànshǒu Qūbàn (suspect counterfeit) pieces like the Qìnyuánchūn on a skeleton and the Jiāhé bājǐng Jiǔquánzǐ lyrics.
