Chén Yí 陳嶷 (fl. mid-15th c., Zhèngtǒng 正統 era) — early-Míng official, jiānchá yùshǐ 監察御史 (Censor). In Zhèngtǒng 6 / 1441 (xīnyǒu 辛酉) he was circuit-inspector of Zhèjiāng; in the course of his circuit, passing through Cíxī 慈溪 (Níngbō region), he visited the Yǒnglè monastery 永樂寺 — where his late father had served as deputy magistrate, and where the abbot Xīxù 西緒 was custodian of the manuscript of Dài Yuánlǐ’s medical compendium. Chén obtained the manuscript and saw it through the press in 1443 under 胡濚 Hú Yíng’s patronage. CBDB id 430950.
