Gāo Xuéshān 高學山 ( Hànzhì 漢峙, fl. mid-eighteenth century, 清), early-mid Qīng physician, native of Yúyáo 餘姚 (Zhèjiāng). Author of two principal extant works on the Zhāng Zhòngjǐng canon: the Gāo zhù Shānghán lùn 高註傷寒論 (KR3ef043?) and the Gāo zhù Jīnguì yào lüè 高註金匱要略 (KR3ef081). Gāo’s commentary method is characterized by close clause-by-clause exegesis with attention to pulse-and-syndrome correlation, set against an explicit doctrinal background drawn from the Nèi jīng五常” 五常 cosmology. Detailed biographical information is sparse; his works were transmitted independently and not collected into a cóngshū. The conventional dating places Gāo’s productive period in the early to mid eighteenth century.
