Tsuruoki Genitsu 鶴沖元逸 (also written 鶴田玄逸; fl. mid-eighteenth century), Edo-period Japanese physician, native of Saihi 西肥 (western Hizen Province, modern Saga / Nagasaki). After early medical study he travelled to Kyoto in autumn 1745 to investigate the doctrinal contradictions among the major Kyoto medical schools; converted to the kohōha programme of Yoshimasu Tōdō 吉益東洞 after meeting the master through Yoshimasu’s pupil Kitao Kōtaku 北奧孔澤. Closest direct disciple-transmitter of Yoshimasu Tōdō’s teaching, principal compiler of the Idan 醫斷 (KR3eq054) — the record of Yoshimasu’s spoken doctrine in canonical form, signed at Tsuruoki’s Kyoto temporary residence in winter 1747 (Enkyō 4).
