Diāo Bùzhōng 刁步忠 (Qīng), late-Qīng hóukē (throat-medicine) specialist of Chóngmíng 崇明 (the Yangtze-estuary island, now a district of Shànghǎi). Father of 刁質明 Diāo Zhìmíng (zì Shǒuyú 守愚). His unpublished manuscript notes on family-tradition throat-medicine were redacted into the four-juǎn Hóukē jiāxùn 喉科家訓 (KR3em038) by his son in 1918. He is known only through the prefaces of that work: Yáng Hànchūn 楊漢春’s preface dated 1924 reports that “Lord Bùzhōng” had died seventeen years earlier (i.e. ca. 1907) and that Yáng had befriended both father and son during his own student years. Death date ca. 1907 follows Yáng’s chronology. CBDB has no entry.
