劉寶楠

Liú Bǎonán (zì Chǔzhēn 楚楨, hào Niànlóu 念樓, 1791–1855), Bǎoyìng 寶應 (Jiāngsū) Confucian scholar of the Yángzhōu School (Yángzhōu xuépài 揚州學派); jìnshì of Dàoguāng 20 (1840) and prefect of several Zhílì counties. Best known as author of the Lúnyǔ zhèngyì 論語正義, the standard Qīng-evidential-philology commentary on the Analects, completed by his son 劉恭冕 Liú Gōngmiǎn after his death and printed in 1866. Qīng shǐ liè zhuàn 67. He contributed a sixtieth-birthday poem to the 1836 editio princeps of KR3el010 Diēsǔn miàofāng in honour of his fellow-townsman 孫應科 Sūn Yìngkē, whose recovery from a broken arm had occasioned the publication.
