Eastern-Hàn antiquarian of Kuàijī commandery 會稽郡 (modern Shàoxīng, Zhèjiāng), Jūngāo 君高, fl. mid-1st c. CE. He is named in the cǎizì riddle that closes the Yuè Jué Shū KR2i0002 (“with kǒu 口 as the surname, with tiān 天 above” yields 吳; “shares his given name with the Chǔ chancellor Qū Yuán” — that is, with the surname 平 of the historical Qū Yuán, identifies the personal name as Píng). He is the same person as the “Wú Jūngāo” 吳君高 named in Wáng Chōng’s 王充 Lùnhéng 論衡 (chap. Ànshū 案書) as author of the Yuèniǔlù 越紐錄, which Wáng Chōng catalogues alongside Yuán Tàibó 袁太伯 and Yuán Wénshù 袁文術 of Línghuái 臨淮 as Eastern-Hàn antiquarians “whose office may not have been high but whose learning rivals that of Liú Xiàng 劉向 and Yáng Xióng 揚雄.” The Yuèniǔlù is generally identified with the Yuè Jué Shū in its early form. Wú Píng appears to have edited and finalized the redaction begun by his fellow-countryman 袁康. CBDB id 447013 carries no dates; the homonymous CBDB id 578701 likewise has no biographical detail. The catalog meta gives fl. 40, which marks the redaction date.
