Southern Sòng Vinaya scholar Miàoyīn 妙音 (lifedates not preserved), resident at the Zhīyán Jìnghuái Jìngfàn 芝嵓淨懷淨梵 monastery — i.e. an institution affiliated with the Língzhī 靈芝 line that descended from Yuánzhào 元照 (1048–1116). Miàoyīn was the third of the three Sòng Vinaya respondents to the thirty Vinaya questions submitted in Jiādìng 嘉定 2 (1209) by the Japanese pilgrim 俊芿 Shunjō and preserved in Lǜzōng wèndá (KR6k0256, X1108). His answers in the Wèndá show a Língzhī school perspective — distinct from the Tiāntái-Vinaya integrative reading that 了然 Liǎorán and 智瑞 Zhìruì both represent — providing the reader with a useful three-way comparison of late-Sòng Vinaya thought. Per DILA A000469: Sòng dynasty; monk; sole recorded work the Lǜzōng wèndá.

The DILA Buddhist Person Authority distinguishes this Miàoyīn from the East-Jìn nun Zhī Miàoyīn 支妙音 of the Jiǎnjìngsì 簡靜寺 (DILA A014989), who is unrelated.
