Yáo Shuǎng 姚爽, a kinsman of 姚興 Yáo Xìng of the Later Qín 後秦, held high office in the early-fifth-century Cháng’ān court (Right General, Inspector of the Capital Region, Duke of Jìn). At his residence the translation of the Sìfēn lǜ 四分律 (KR6k0009) and of the Cháng Āhán jīng 長阿含經 (KR6a0001) was carried out by 佛陀耶舍 Buddhayaśas, 竺佛念 Zhú Fóniàn, and the scribe 道含 Dàohán in 410–413; 僧肇 Sēngzhào’s preface to the Cháng Āhán names him as the lay patron of the project.
