Northern-Sòng 北宋 medical-pharmacological scholar, active c. 1116. Author of the celebrated Běn cǎo yǎn yì 本草衍義 (“Extended Meaning of the Materia Medica”, 1116) — one of the most important Northern-Sòng critical works on the běn cǎo 本草 pharmacopoeia tradition.
