延慶

延慶 Enkei

Japanese Tendai 天台 monk who travelled to Sòng China to study with 法照 Huìyán Fǎzhào at Hángzhōu Shàngtiānzhúsì. Together with 海順 Kaijun, he had Fǎzhào’s portrait painted and brought it back to Japan, where Fǎzhào’s Fǎhuá jīng sāndàbù dújiào jì (KR6d0062) was subsequently studied in the medieval Tendai tradition.
