Mílè Púsà 彌勒菩薩 (Skt. Maitreya “the Friendly One”) is the bodhisattva who in Mahāyāna cosmology dwells in the Tuṣita heaven awaiting his future descent as the next Buddha. The phonetic transliteration of Maitreya gives 彌勒; the translation is 慈氏 (慈氏菩薩). In Yogācāra doctrine, Maitreya is credited as the original revelation-source of the Yogācārabhūmi texts on the bodhisattva-path — including the Pú-sà-jiè-běn 菩薩戒本 (KR6k0121, KR6k0123) on the bodhisattva-precepts and other texts in the Yogācārabhūmi corpus. The attribution is doctrinal-revelatory, with the texts mediated through the historical author Asaṅga 無著.
