Huìquán 惠泉
Northern-Sòng Chán monk of the Línjì / Huánglóng lineage. Native of Péngchéng 彭城 (present-day Xúzhōu, Jiāngsū). Took up residence at Nántái Gézi yuàn 南臺閣子院; characterised in the Bǔxù gāosēng zhuàn 補續高僧傳 as of austere temperament (xìng gūjié 性孤潔), not given to casual association (DILA A021573; X77n1524 p. 516c). Compiled (jí 集) the one-juan Huánglóng Huìnán chánshī yǔlù 黃龍慧南禪師語錄 (KR6q0055), the canonical recorded-sayings collection of his teacher 慧南 Huánglóng Huìnán (1002–1069). No independent dates are transmitted; his activity is therefore placed in the second half of the eleventh century on the basis of his teacher’s life.
