Hakuun Egyō 白雲慧曉 (d. 1298) — Kamakura-period Japanese Rinzai-Zen master, dharma-heir of 圓爾 Enni Ben’en at Tōfuku-ji. Posthumous title Busshō Zenji 佛照禪師 (“Buddha-Illuminated Zen Master”).

Death date: Taitoku (大德) 2 = 1297, 12th month, 26th day (= Western calendar 1298, January 17) — per X70 no. 1389, p. 410, and the Giyū-ji-roku 疑年錄 p. 300.

His Recorded Sayings, the Busshō Zenji goroku 佛照禪師語錄 (KR6t0252, T80n2546), were compiled by his disciple Kihaku 希白. Two-fascicle compilation. He stands within the Shōichi-ha (Tōfuku-ji lineage) of the early Japanese Rinzai-Zen tradition.
