Dài Lì 戴笠
Late-Míng jǔrén of Hángzhōu who fled to Nagasaki in 1653 after the Míng collapse and took ordination under the Ōbaku 黃檗 patriarch 隱元隆琦 Yǐnyuán Lóngqí, taking the Buddhist name Dúlì Xìngyì 獨立性易 (Japanese reading Dokuryū Shōeki). He practised medicine in Japan and is a key figure in the transmission of late-Míng Chinese medicine to Japan through the Ōbaku channel. He was the master of 北山友松子 Kitayama Yūshōshi, in whose Běishān yīàn KR3ep001 the appended introductory case is attributed to “Dúlì lǎorén” 獨立老人.
