Southern-Sòng Daoxué teacher of Yánpíng 延平 in Fújiàn, zì Yuànzhōng 願中, conventionally Master Yánpíng. A pupil of Luó Cóngyàn 羅從彥, in the Yáng Shí 楊時 → Luó Cóngyàn → Lǐ Tóng → 朱熹 Zhū Xī transmission line of the Chéng-brothers’ Luòxué that constitutes the canonical “Dào tǒng” 道統 inheritance. Lǐ Tóng is Zhū Xī’s principal teacher; the Yánpíng dáwèn 延平答問 (Lǐ’s letters to Zhū) is the primary record of the master-pupil relationship and was canonized in the early Southern-Sòng Dàoxué tradition.
