Southern-Sòng xiǎoxué scholar, jìnshì of Lúlíng 廬陵 (Jíshuǐ, Jiāngxī), Shàodìng gēngyín (1230). The compiler of the Yāyùn shìyí 押韻釋疑 (5 juàn), a working examination-rhyme guide developed jointly with his friend Yì Yǒukāi 易有開 in response to the Lǐbù yùnlüè’s confusing entries where graphs share form-but-not-meaning or meaning-but-not-form. Yú Wényù 余文焴 of Chénlíng wrote the preface. After Ōuyáng’s book had been re-printed many times by commercial book-shops with extensive corruption, the work was zēngxiū (re-augmented) by Guō Shǒuzhèng 郭守正 in Jǐngdìng jiǎzǐ (1264), the version preserved as KR1j0062.
