Shěn Míngzōng 沈明宗 (zì Mùcún 目存, hào Qiūchí 秋池, fl. late seventeenth / early eighteenth century, Kāngxī period), early-Qīng physician of Jiāxīng 嘉興 (Zhèjiāng). One of the principal theorist-physicians of the early-Qīng period, integrating the Míng LǐZhū 李朱 (Lǐ Dōngyuán / Zhū Dānxī) clinical tradition with the yùnqì 五運六氣 cosmological framework and the Shānghán / Jīnguì classical-formulary tradition. Major works: the Shānghán Liùshū chánjiě 傷寒六書纏解 (commentary on the six standard Shānghán commentaries), the Jīnguì yàolüè biānzhù 金匱要略編注 (1692, a major early-Qīng Jīnguì commentary), the Wēnrè bìng piān 溫熱病篇, and the Kèchuāng ǒután 客窗偶談 (KR3eq062) clinical-theoretical miscellany. His integrative doctrinal-cosmological position prefigures the Dàoguāng — Xián-fēng-era Mèng-hé-school integrative method. Not in CBDB.
