Wēn Jiào 溫嶠 (288–329, Tàizhēn 太真), Eastern Jìn general and statesman, native of Qíxiàn 祁縣 in Tàiyuán. He is referenced here as the protagonist of the Jìn shū 晉書 anecdote in which he lights a rhinoceros-horn torch (ránxī 燃犀) in the Niúzhǔ 牛渚 rapids to see the underwater monsters — the literary topos that names 許志 Xǔ Zhì’s Huòluàn ránxī shuō (KR3eg042).
