Jiāo Yuánxī 焦袁熹 (1661–1736), zì Guǎngqī 廣期, native of Jīnshān 金山 (Sōngjiāng 松江 prefecture, Jiāngsū). Kāngxī bǐngzǐ (1696) jǔrén. He held no major office and lived as a retired jīngxué scholar; he is one of the Sìkù editors’ favourite early-Qing Chūnqiū commentators and is bracketed with Xú Tíngyuán 徐庭垣 (KR1e0106) for restoring sober interpretation against the harsh moralism of the Sūn Fù / Hú Ānguó tradition. The catalog gives 1660–1725; CBDB and Wikidata give 1661–1736, followed here. His Chūnqiū quē rú biān 春秋闕如編 (KR1e0108) was unfinished at his death, breaking off at Chénggōng 8; its grandson-edited manuscript reached the Sìkù in autograph form.
