Wáng Jiǔsī 王九思 — Yuán-period editor of the Wáng Hànlín jí zhù Huángdì bāshíyī Nánjīng 王翰林集註黃帝八十一難經 (KR3e0003), a Yuán anthology of the major pre-Yuán commentaries on the Nán jīng: Lǚ Guǎng 呂廣 (Three Kingdoms / Wú), Yáng Xuáncāo 楊玄操 (Táng), Dīng Dérún 丁德用 (Sòng), Yú Shù 虞庶 (Sòng), and Yáng Kāngdí 楊康迪 (Sòng). His lifedates are not securely recorded; the Sìkù editors did not include this compilation, choosing instead Huá Shòu’s Nánjīng běnyì 難經本義 (KR3e0004), and as a result Wáng Jiǔsī receives no notice in the standard Sòng and Yuán bibliographies. The zì “Hànlín” 翰林 in the title — by which the work is conventionally known as 王翰林 — refers to Wáng’s office, but the prosopographic record is too thin to identify him with any confident match in CBDB. He is not the Míng poet Wáng Jiǔsī 王九思 (1468–1551, zì Jìngfū 敬夫, of Hù xiàn 鄠縣) recorded in CBDB 126440, who has no medical œuvre.

Wáng Jiǔsī 王九思 (1468–1551), zì Jìngfū 敬夫, hào Měibēi 渼陂, native of Hù xiàn 鄠縣 (Shǎnxī). Hànlín bachelor (進士 1496), member of the “Former Seven Masters” (前七子) of Míng poetry alongside Lǐ Mèngyáng 李夢陽 and Hé Jǐngmíng 何景明. Demoted from court after the fall of the eunuch Liú Jǐn 劉瑾 in 1510. He is not the editor of KR3e0003 Wáng Hànlín jí zhù Nánjīng; the homonym entry above pertains to that work.
