Chéng Mǐnzhèng 程敏政 (1445–1499), zì Kèqín 克勤, hào Huángdūn 篁墩. Native of Xiūníng 休寧 (Huīzhōu, Ānhuī). A precocious shéntóng (prodigy) — recommended to the Tàixué at age 10; Chénghuà 2 (1466) jìnshì; reached Lǐbù yòu shìláng 禮部右侍郎 jointly Hànlínyuàn xuéshì. In Hóngzhì 12 (1499) he was at the centre of a famous examination-leakage scandal — accused of leaking the metropolitan-examination questions; thrown into prison and forced into retirement (died shortly thereafter, possibly by suicide). Míng shǐ j. 286 (Wényuàn 2). Son-in-law of the Tiān-shùn-era Senior Grand Secretary Lǐ Xián 李賢 (李賢); edited his father-in-law’s KR4e0104 Gǔráng jí (30 juǎn). Independently a great editor and Lǐxué author: edited KR4e0097 Táng Wénfèng Wúgāng jí (and the Tángshì sān xiānshēng jí lineage compilation); edited KR4e0109 Yuè Zhèng Lèibógǎo. Author of the major SòngYuán xuéàn-precursor Xīnjīng fùzhù 心經附註 and other Lǐxué works. CBDB id 29602 (1445–1499).
