Chún 純 (catalog form; full reference Biémù Chún 別牧純), zì Biémù 別牧 (“Detached Shepherd”). LínjìYángqí dharma-heir of Jìngtíng Dézōng 德宗 (1621–1684, cf. KR6q0587). Born 明崇禎戊寅五月二十日 = 1638-07-01 Gregorian; death year unknown — was 60 in 康熙丁丑 = 1697. Native of Sānwúzhàn 三吾站 (Húnán); lay name Lǐ Shànbǎo 李善寶.
Formation. Vegetarian from infancy; as a child accompanied his mother to nunneries and would clasp hands and kneel to listen, sit in jiā-fū. At 15 a dream resolved his determination; secretly fled at night to Fú-yuán-ān 福緣菴 to take tonsure under Hóng-jué 弘覺禪師. Took shā-mí precepts at Yí-shān 嶷山 — given the běn-lái miàn-mù gōng-àn. One day on hearing a cat cry, had insight. Listened to Zēng-shān lecturing the Śūraṅgama. Met Dé-zōng 逕和尚. 順治己亥 = 1659 took full ordination; the next year accompanied Dé-zōng to take the abbacy of Yí-shān. 康熙壬寅 = 1662 they jointly founded Nán-yuán 南源. Eventually fù-fǎ in 康熙丁巳 = 1677.
