Jiǎng Xī 蔣焈 (Daoist name Chōngsù 冲素), elder son of Jiǎng Shūyú 蔣叔輿 and joint signatory, with his brother Jiǎng Yàn 蔣焱 (Daoist name Chōngyī 冲一), of the colophon to the Wúshàng huánglù dàzhāi lìchéng yí KR5b0211 (DZ 508). The colophon, dated 嘉定癸未 (= 1223), the seventh month, identifies the brothers as “bùxiào gū 不孝孤” (unfilial orphans), establishing that their father died in that month or shortly before, and records their pious editorial role in completing and publishing the work. The Daoist religious names indicate that both brothers had taken vows in the same Zhèngyī lineage as their father. Beyond this colophon and the lay biographical paragraph it provides, no further independent record of Jiǎng Xī has been identified; he is not in CBDB.
