Xiāo Shìyún 蕭士贇

Cuìkě 粹可. Native of Níngdū 寧都 (modern Níngdū xiàn in southern Jiāngxī). Yuán-period scholar and accomplished poet; on close terms with Wú Chéng 吳澄 (1249–1333). Floruit early 14th century. The Sìkù compilers describe him as “dǔxué gōngshī 篤學工詩” — devoted to learning and skilled at poetry. His principal scholarly contribution is the shānbǔ (revised and supplemented) edition of Yáng Qíxián’s 楊齊賢 Lǐ Tàibái jí jízhù — the resulting text is the Lǐ Tàibái jí fēnlèi bǔzhù KR4c0013, the principal SòngYuán annotated Lǐ Bái edition.

His own works — a Shī píng 詩評 in some 20 piān and a personal collection Bīngyái jí 冰崖集 — are lost; only the Lǐ Bái zhù survives. The Sìkù tíyào singles out his judgment that the Guǎngwǔ zhàncháng huáigǔ 廣武戰場懷古 in the transmitted Lǐ Bái corpus is non-genuine — a judgment generally accepted in modern scholarship — as a piece of unusually clear-eyed editorial kǎojù.
