Xíngzé 行澤 (1607-09-21 – c. 1654-02-17 / 1655-02-05 = 順治甲午), hào Yúnwài 雲外, also styled Shéndǐng 神鼎 from his late abbacy. LínjìYángqí dharma-heir of Yìnzhōng Tōngshòu 印中通授 (also Sōngjì Tōngshòu 松際通授, and 陽山見授 in the KR6q0463 Wáng Guāngchéng preface) at Qìngshān 磬山. Native of Wùyuán 婺源 (新安, Xīnān, Huīzhōu); lay surname Wāng 汪; lay-name Yìnglín 應麟 (mother dreamed of a unicorn-dance, qí lín wǔ yú tíngwéi 麟舞於庭維). Shìshòu 48, sēnglà 20.
Formation. Father Zhòngguān 仲觀, mother Wángshì 王氏. Entered school at 6. Tonsured at 25 at Huángshān Yúngǔyuàn 黃山雲谷院 under Wúyì 無易; full precepts at 26 from Màolín lǜshī 茂林律師 in Gūsū. Followed Màolín to Tiāntóng 天童 to meet Mìyún Yuánwù 圓悟 圓悟; received initial xǐng on hearing a door-opening sound at night. Decisive fùfǎ under Tōngshòu at Qìngshān on the fēngdòng liánmù 風動簾幙 incident — wind blew a curtain to the ground with a pūsù 撲簌 sound, triggering the breakthrough.
Abbacies and death. Qízhōu Lǎozǔsì 蘄州老祖寺, then Xiāngyīn Shéndǐngsì 湘陰神鼎寺 — the latter the seat from which his Hāo Shéndǐng derives. Died 順治甲午 = 1654 with the verse shìfēi hǎi nèi zhǎn quánjī 是非海內展全機; full-body stūpa at Shéndǐng Zīfúsì right side. Heirs: Hóngfú 宏怤 (compiler of KR6q0463), Shēnjí 深極, Shēnzhī 深知, Shēnhào 深皜.
Work. KR6q0463 《神鼎雲外澤禪師語錄》 15 juan, Jiāxīng Canon J33 B280, compiled by cānxué ménrén Hóngfú 宏怤 děng, with prefaces by Wáng Guāngchéng Pántán 王光承槃談 of Yúnjiān (Sōngjiāng) dated 康熙十一年孟春 = 1672 spring and other prefaces. The original yǔlù was praised by the Míng loyalist Jīn Zhèngxī 金正希 (= 金聲, 1598–1645) — that earlier preface is also preserved in the volume.
