Xǔ Xuándù 許玄度
Eastern Jìn 東晉 lay Buddhist, also known as Xǔ Xún 許詢, zì Xuándù 玄度. A friend of Zhī Dùn 支遁 and prominent figure in fourth-century xuánxué and Buddhist circles. In Sòng-era Buddhist zhuàn literature, Péi Xiū 裴休 (787–860) is identified as a re-incarnation of Xǔ Xuándù in the sānshēng 三生 (“three lives”) narrative — see annotations in KR6i0566 and KR6i0567.
