Dáguān Tányǐng 達觀曇穎

Northern Sòng Chán monk (989–1060) of the Yúnmén 雲門 line. Composed a biographical work on the Five Houses during the Jiāyòu 嘉祐 era (1056–1063), recording the enlightenment occasions and sayings of the principal masters but omitting their life-histories — a work that inspired Huìhóng’s subsequent Chánlín sēngbǎo zhuàn 禪林僧寶傳 (KR6q0040).
