Chén Yuánxī 陳元犀 (zì Língshí 靈石, fl. early 19th c., 清) was the son and continuator of the eminent Chén Niànzǔ 陳念祖 (Xiūyuán 修園, 1753–1823), the Chánglè 長樂 physician who systematised the Qīng shífāng / jīngfāng pedagogical corpus. Chén Yuánxī continued his father’s project of pedagogical commentary on the classical pharmaco-therapeutic corpus, producing the Jīnguì yàolüè qiǎnzhù 金匱要略淺注 (a parallel to his father’s Shānghán lùn qiǎnzhù) and its companion Jīnguì fāng gēkuò 金匱方歌括 KR3ed086 (rhymed mnemonic formulary for the Jīnguì yàolüè formulas). The latter work is attributed to Chén Niànzǔ in the catalog meta but a postface by Chén Yuánxī’s disciple Yè Xiǎnghuì 葉享會 makes clear that the son completed it after his father’s death. No CBDB entry.
