Lù Màoxiū 陸懋修 (1818–1886), zì Jiǔzhī 九芝, hào Jiāngzuǒ xiàgōng 江左下工 (sometimes 林屋山人), was the leading Sūzhōu 蘇州 (Yuánhé 元和) physician of the late Tóngzhì / Guāngxù generation and the principal continuator of Yè Tiānshì’s wēnbìng tradition in late Qīng. A xiùcái of the Dàoguāng era, he turned fully to medicine after the Tàipíng wars (during which his family was displaced from Sūzhōu) and built a major Shànghǎi practice in the 1860s–1880s. He compiled the Shìbǔzhāi yī shū 世補齋醫書 (1884), one of the major late-Qing medical cóngshū — 35 zhǒng, including several of Lù’s own original works:
- Nèijīng yùnqì bìng shì 內經運氣病釋, 9 juan (KR3ea047).
- Nèijīng yùnqì biǎo 內經運氣表 (KR3ea048).
- Nèijīng nán zì yīn yì 內經難字音義 (KR3ea049).
- Bù lǐ yú jí 不謝齋集 (his collected medical essays).
- Shì jīng yù dú 釋經餘讀.
His clinical orientation is wēnbìng-school but with a strong commitment to grounding wēnbìng in yùnqì doctrine. He died in 1886 aged 68.
