Late-Yuán / early-Míng literatus of Yíxīng 宜興 (Chángzhōu). Zì Xiàocháng 孝常. CBDB birth: 1322, death unrecorded. Close friend of 周砥 Zhōu Dǐ and 高棅 Gāo Qǐ (the early-Míng Wúzhōng poet). During the Zhāng Shìchéng rebellions (1353–1355) he sheltered with Zhōu Dǐ at the Zhōu-family Jīngnán 荊南 estate in Yíxīng, and the two composed the KR4h0091 Jīngnán chànghé shījí (1 juǎn).
After the Míng founding he served as Jiànchāng tóngzhī 建昌同知 (Assistant Prefect of Jiànchāng). He transmitted the hand-copied chànghé anthology to Gāo Qǐ, who passed it through Lǚ Mǐn 呂敏 — Lǚ wrote a postscript and Xú Bēn 徐賁 added a tící — eventually returning to the Mǎ family. The collection was first printed in the Chénghuà period (1465–1487) by the Yíxīng man Lǐ Tíngzhī 李廷芝, edited by Lǐ Yìngzhēn 李應禎 and Zhāng Bì 張弼.
His own biéjí does not survive; his verse is preserved only in this collection.
