Gāo Dǐngfén 高鼎汾, hào Shàngchí 上池 (b. ca. 1794, died after 1860). Mid-19th-century Wúxī 無錫 physician. Son of the much more famous 高秉鈞 Gāo Bǐngjūn (Jǐntíng 錦亭, 1755–1827, author of the Yángkē xīndé jí 瘍科心得集). Gāo Dǐngfén pursued medical study from about age 30 and was clinically active in Wúxī through the 1840s and 1850s, in close professional association with 王泰林 Wáng Xùgāo (1798–1862), who had also been a disciple of Gāo Jǐntíng. His sole transmitted work is KR3eq090 Yīxué kèér cè 醫學課兒策 (1843), the cèwèn (examination-question) text composed to instruct his son Gāo Dòujī 鬥機, surviving in a manuscript marginally annotated by Wáng Xùgāo and rediscovered by Zhōu Zhèn in his great-grandson Yánwǔ’s possession in 1915. Lifedates derived from the self-preface, which reports him aged 50 in 1843. Not in CBDB.
