Huáng Zhījùn 黃之雋 (1668–1748), Shímù 石牧, hào Tángcūn 堂村, native of Huátíng 華亭 (Sōngjiāng prefecture, modern Shanghai). Jìnshì of Kāngxī 60 (1721) at the relatively advanced age of 54; entered the Hanlin and rose to zhōngyǔn 中允 (Hanlin Compiler-Editor of the Crown Prince’s Household). Recognised as one of the leading literati of the early Qiánlóng era, he was the principal biānzuǎn of the Jiāngnán tōngzhì (KR2k0042) in 1731–1736, working from the bureau at Jiāngníng. His extensive Tángtángjí 堂集 — a corpus of , prose, and a jíchéng play Pèiniáng 蓓娘 — provides his own running commentary on the gazetteer project, including criticisms of post-departure revisions to his draft. His literary reputation rests above all on the jíjù play Pèiniáng, the technical perfection of which earned the praise of Wáng Shìzhēn 王士禛.
