Huáng Yànpíng 黃彥平 (d. 1139), Jìcén 季岑, hào Cìshān 次山 (also written Cìcén 次岑 — these variants are responsible for the bibliographic confusion documented in the Sìkù tíyào of KR4d0165). Native of Liújiāng 流江 (Fēngchéng 豐城-xiàn, modern Jiāngxī). Jìnshì of Xuānhé 4 or Zhènghé later years (date variously reported); Yuányòu-faction descendant.

His father was Huáng Délǐ 黃得禮 (CBDB id 15448), Zhízhōng 執中, Yuányòu-period (1086–94) jìnshì who served as Liǔzhōu jūnshì cānjūn. Yànpíng’s elder brother was Huáng Yànfǔ 黃彥輔 (CBDB id 15451), Bóqiáng 伯強, Zhènghé jìnshì. Yànpíng was the second son.

In Jìngkāng beginning, Yànpíng was demoted for being close-friends with Lǐ Gāng 李綱. After the southward crossing, repeatedly memorialised on policy. Reached Lìbù lángzhōng 吏部郎中, served as Tídiǎn Húnán xíngyù 提點湖南刑獄. The Sìkù editors note that his evaluation memorial is píngyǔn (balanced-and-fair), and that his prediction concerning Liú Guāngshì 劉光世 and Lǚ Zhī 呂祉 was borne out rú cāo quàn rán (as if holding a tally).

Zhāng Duānyì’s 張端義 Guìěr jí preserves a self-correction by Yànpíng of a qǐcí (felicitation-piece) — Yànpíng changed fāng sìjiǔ zhī nián (just at the age of 4 × 9 = 36) on the model of “Mǎichén zìzhī jiāngguì” — showing his xūxīn cóngshàn (humble-mind to follow good).

CBDB id 15449 has deathyear 1139 only.

His collection survives as Sānyú jí 三餘集 KR4d0165 in 4 juǎn (Sìkù Yǒnglè dàdiǎn reconstruction). The Sòng shǐ Yìwénzhì mistakenly titles it Yùyú jí 玉餘集 (玉 ↔ 三 graphic confusion).
