Yì wěi Kūn líng tú 易緯坤靈圖

The Apocryphal Yì on the Spirit-Charts of Kūn nominally by 鄭玄 (註)

About the work

The eighth and final of the eight Yì wěi 易緯 texts gathered as appendix to the -class of the Sìkù quánshū; see KR1a0163 for the broader contextualization of the Yì wěi tradition. One juàn. The work treats the spirit-charts (líng tú 靈圖) of Kūn as a divinatory-cosmographic apparatus complementary to the Qián záo dù / Kūn záo dù pair (the Záo dù tradition is methodologically focused on the chiseling-open of Qián-Kūn; the Líng tú on the spirit-mediated charts that derive from Kūn).

The Yǒnglè dàdiǎn recovery brings the Sìkù’s eight-text Yì wěi corpus to completion: the Záo dù pair (KR1a0163 Qián Kūn záo dù + KR1a0166 Zhōuyì Qián záo dù); the calendrical-divinatory pair (KR1a0164 Jī lǎn tú + KR1a0167 Tōng guà yàn); the cosmological pair (KR1a0168 Qián yuán xù zhì jì + KR1a0170 Kūn líng tú); and two miscellaneous works (KR1a0165 Biàn zhōng bèi + KR1a0169 Shì lèi móu).

Abstract

The work is the closing member of the Sìkù-recovered Yì wěi corpus, a compact one-juàn document on the spirit-mediated charts of Kūn. As with the broader corpus, the substantive content concerns Hàn-period (or post-Hàn-but-medieval) divinatory-cosmographic apparatus; the Zhèng Xuán-commentary attribution is conventional and not secure.
