Sānyútáng shèng yán 三魚堂賸言

Surplus Words from the Three-Fish Hall parent words by 陸隴其 (Lù Lǒngqí, hào Sānyú 三魚, 1630–1692, 清, 撰); compiled by 陳濟 (Chén Jì, 1665–1718, 清, 編)

About the work

A 12-juan posthumous yǔlù of Lù Lǒngqí, compiled by his pupil Chén Jì. The title sānyútáng is from Lù’s hall-name (his hào Sānyú “Three Fish”). The work consolidates Lù’s jiǎngxué materials into a thematic anthology, complementing the Dú Zhū suí bǐ (KR3a0115, his close-reading notes on Zhūzǐ) and Sōngyáng chāo cún (KR3a0117, his administrative-period reflections from Sōngyáng).

Abstract

The Sānyútáng shèng yán is the principal yǔlù of Lù Lǒngqí. Composition window: Lù’s working life (1670–1692) plus Chén Jì’s editorial work (post-1692, completed during Chén’s life span 1665–1718). The frontmatter brackets to ca. 1670–1700.

The substantive position is uniformly Zhū-Xī-loyalist, providing the thematic-anthology counterpart to the Dú Zhū suí bǐ’s reading-notes form.
