Yè Tiānshì Cáo Rénbó Hé Yuáncháng yīàn 葉天士曹仁伯何元長醫案
Combined Medical Case Records of Yè Tiānshì, Cáo Rénbó, and Hé Yuáncháng by 葉桂 Yè Guì (Tiānshì 天士, 1666–1745), 曹存心 Cáo Cúnxīn (Rénbó 仁伯, 1767–1834), and 何元長 Hé Yuáncháng (1752–1806).
About the work
A three-juǎn composite casebook that joins selections from the case material of three of the most important Qīng wēnbìng / biànzhèng physicians of the Sūzhōu region across more than a century: Yè Tiānshì (founder of the wēnbìng school proper), Cáo Cúnxīn (Rénbó, of Chángshú), and Hé Yuáncháng of Sūzhōu. The arrangement is by syndrome (春溫門, 三十三方; 風溫門; etc.).

Abstract
The text belongs to a Qīng tradition of sānjiā / sìjiā yīàn (three-family / four-family casebook) compilations — most famously KR3ep020 Sānjiā yīàn hékè of 吳金壽 Wú Jīnshòu (1830) — that thematically arrange syndrome-grouped selections of cases by major Sūzhōu-school masters for didactic purposes. The present compilation appears to be an anonymous nineteenth-century editorial selection (compiler not identified in the source) drawing from:
- Yè Guì 葉桂 (Yè Tiānshì, 1666–1745) — the founder of the wēnbìng school proper; cases drawn principally from the Línzhèng zhǐnán yīàn (KR3ep010) and related Yè-school sources.
- Cáo Cúnxīn 曹存心 (Rénbó, 1767–1834) — the leading Sūzhōu / Chángshú physician of the late-Qiánlóng to Jiāqìng period; cases drawn from KR3ep025 Cáo Rénbó yīàn lùn, KR3ep069 Cáo Rénbó yīàn, and related materials.
- Hé Yuáncháng 何元長 (1752–1806) — the leading early-Jiāqìng Sūzhōu physician of the Hé-family medical lineage; one of the “Hé-family three” of 何琬亭 Hé Wǎntíng, Hé Yuáncháng, and 何書山 Hé Shūshān, ancestors of the famous Ménghé Hé-family clinicians.
The composition window 1720–1880 reflects the combined active dates of the three physicians plus a probable mid-to-late-nineteenth-century editorial compilation. The sānjiā format makes the text a heavily-used didactic resource in Republican-era Chinese-medical schools.
